The Vipers dominated their opening game defeating a tenacious Loudoun 4 squad by a margin of 7-1. Although the Vipers had the better of play throughout the first half, it was still anyone's game until Brad Johnson's corner kick deflected off a defender to make it 2-1. A barrage of goals early in the 2nd half quickly put the game out of reach.

Battling a much tougher Loudoun 6 squad, the Vipers once again emerged victorious. In a balanced contest, the team scored two second half goals. Ryan Rowley had an excellent, complete game in the net, and John Weeks thanked him for it by making a brilliant defensive play late in the game.

After playing at peak capacity all season, the Vipers had one of those days. Sometimes things just don't click like they should--a keeper is dizzy, a stalwart midfielder is having cramps in both legs, the steady defense misfires a few times.
